green pass

The Italian Covid-19 digital green certificate guarantees participation in large public events, access to RSA and travel on the national territory. From 1 July is also the European system that facilitates travel and holidays between the countries of the Union because, except for national provisions for the worsening of the epidemiological situation, allows those with the Green Pass not to have to undergo quarantine periods or additional tampons upon arrival at the place of destination.

What is the green pass?

The green certificate (introduced by the anti-Covid decree of 22 April 2021, then modified by the decree of 18 May, and to which the 17 last June the Prime Minister Mario Draghi gave the green light) it is a document that serves to demonstrate one of the three conditions: anti-Covid vaccination, healing from Covid, the negative result of an antigenic or molecular swab.

What is the Green Pass for?

It is used to move freely in Italy, even between Regions, Orange and red provinces or municipalities, to visit the elderly in the RSA, to participate in shows, sport events, concerts, parties with more people than previously established by the regulations on the capacity of plants, sports halls, locals, festivals or outdoor arenas, wedding receptions or other civil and religious ceremonies.

How to get the Green Pass?

There are several ways to get it. You can connect to the site “Digital green certificate” (www.dgc.gov.it), managed by the Sogei company: here you can proceed by inserting your Spid (or the digital identity Cie) or by entering the health card number and the authcode, a code sent via text message from "Min Salute" or via email from the "Ministry of Health" (noreply.digitalcovidcertificate@sogei.it) to the contacts communicated during the vaccination or when the certificate of recovery from Covid was issued to us. At this point a digital or printable QR code is generated with a digital signature of the Ministry of Health to prevent it from being falsified, which must be shown and validated at the controls.

Otherwise, you can proceed using the Immuni app or the Io app. Third modality: green certification can be obtained by accessing your electronic health record, in the manner provided for in the region of assistance. Finally, who does not have digital tools (computer o smartphone) you can contact your general practitioner, to the pediatrician of free choice or to the pharmacy for the recovery of their Covid-19 green certification.

Attention: only until 12 August, the provisional replacement certifications of the Green Pass are also valid, that is, the vaccination sheets issued by the hubs, medical certificates of recovery issued by the family doctor, from the hospital or pediatrician, and the sheet that is given in pharmacies or public and private laboratories that testify to the negative outcome of an antigenic or molecular swab.

How long does the green pass last??

In case of vaccination, the national certificate in Italy is valid from the 15th day following the inoculation of the first dose of a vaccine recognized by AIFA – Pfizer, Modern, Vaxzevria (AstraZeneca) o Janssen (Johnson&Johnson) – until the date of the second dose and from that day for others 270 days (circa 9 months). It lasts instead 180 days (circa 6 months) from recovery in case of Covid infection. And it hardly lasts 48 hours in the case of a negative antigenic or molecular buffer. A note: in case of vaccination, the duration of the certificate is linked to the vaccine that is received because the timing between the administration of the two doses is different. In the case of AstraZeneca, the certificate lasts almost a year, in the case of Pfizer and Moderna approx 10-11 months, in Johnson's case 9 exact.
