GENERAL LINES
Mario Brunello will hold a masterclass from the 3 August to August 8th 2026 in San Ginesio, in Marche, in the province of Macerata.
The masterclass is part of a project "The sounds of the villages" promoted by the PRO LOCO SAN GINESIO and MUNICIPALITY OF SAN GINESIO. It was born from an innovative training idea by Mario Brunello, where the music meets the knowledge of an area hit by the earthquake of 2016. The lessons will revolve around three concepts that will guide an intense week: Method to study, Shape per interpret, Nature as a source of inspiration.
the masterclasses are of two different types:
MASTERCLASS High perfection availability 3 places (or at the discretion of Maestro Brunello): the selected cellists will have each 3 individual lessons, an hour and a half each.
The presence of the pianist Maria Semeraro.
The total cost of 700 euros includes:
• individual lessons
• room and board in a double room (from the 2 to August 8th, 7 nights)
• participation in all activities of the week
• concerts
• complete access to the training experience
MASTERCLASS “9-99 years”, open to all age levels,
Preparation, students, professionals and non-professionals,
The total cost of 600 euros includes:
• 2 individual lessons with Mario Brunello of a duration at the discretion of the Maestro
• ensemble music with Sanne de Graaf
• room and board in a double room (from the 2 to August 8th, 7 nights) participation in all activities of the week
• concerts
• complete access to the training experience
The lessons for the 9-99 they will be based on the book by Mario Brunello “24 days of study” (for those who do not have it it will be available on site at a cost of 30 euro).

APPLICATION FOR PARTICIPATION
To participate in the high-level Masterclass, candidates who have passed a video selection are required:
– standard question, linked below
– Link to the video file of one or more performances (15 minutes max, defend a own choice, with the exclusion of J. S. Bach)
– Brief Curriculum Vitae (max. 1 Word folder)
– Photocopy of an identity document
– Bank transfer receipt for the first tranche (valid for access to
selection) assets defined down payment 40,00 euro (non-refundable) at the moment of registration
– List of songs that you intend to perform during the masterclass.
For participation in the “9-99 years” Masterclass are required:

– Short Curriculum Vitae with short motivational letter (max 1
Word folder) in which to indicate what your musical theme is

Tuesday 4 August: morning “Method”, visit to a model of high local craftsmanship; afternoon advanced masterclass lessons
Wednesday 5 August: morning “Form”, visit to an example of the artistic heritage of the area; afternoon advanced masterclass lessons
Thursday 6 August: "Nature", naturalistic excursion on the Sibillini Mountains
Friday 7 August: Full day of advanced masterclass lessons
Saturday 8 August: masterclass lessons “9-99”
Sunday 9 August: Departure
CONCERTS
Monday 3 August: Concert with MARIO BRUNELLO cello
Thursday 6 August: small concert in the mountains
Friday 7 August: musical appointment with the ensemble music group
Saturday 8 August: Concert for cellists of the high-level masterclass
ACCOMMODATION AND COMPANIONS
The price includes accommodation in double room. Who wants accommodation in single room will be required to pay the difference compared to the total cost of the room. Participants will be hosted in structures that will be communicated
after selection. It is possible to be accompanied by only one companion, to be reported at the time of registration. The costs of food and accommodation for accompanying persons will be at their expense.
The whole group, composed of the participants of both masterclasses (and any registered companions or listeners), will participate in all activities for the duration of the entire project. The lessons will be held in the Auditorium of the Church of Sant'Agostino.
MARIO BRUNELLO MASTERCLASS – HOW TO GET THERE
San Ginesio is located within the Sibillini Mountains National Park, the continuation of all the necessary requirements 700 meters above sea level. Orange Flag, it is one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, and in 2021 received the United Nations World Tourism Organization award
(UNWTO) di Best Tourism Village.

By train / bus
The nearest railway station is that of Tolentino. From there, take the bus to San Ginesio (Porta Picena stop). It is possible with ltareg lioraride the auto buses on the Autolineesasp website (+39 0733.663137) or by directly consulting the timetable.
By plane / nave
The nearest airport is that of Ancona / Falconara, about 90 km from the village (Link to the site) while the nearest port is that of Ancona about 80 km from the village (Link to the site).
With its own means
From the highway A14, both coming from the North and the South, take the Civitanova Marche exit taking the SS77 until the Macerata Ovest-Sforzacosta exit. From there follow the SP78 up to Passo San Ginesio.
Where to park
It is possible to park in the free car park indicated by the sign P in the map, or in the adjacent Rest area for excellent camper. It will be the responsibility of the organizing body to summon the admitted candidates, indicating the place and time.
