The mayor of San Ginesio, Giuliano Ciabocco, and the councilor for reconstruction, Giordano Saltari announce the start of seismic recovery and improvement interventions of the Giacomo Leopardi municipal theater closed following the earthquake of 2016.
In fact, in a recent council resolution the technical feasibility project was approved- economic determining a total amount of one million and 650 thousand euros, calculated on the basis of the damage suffered by the building and the investigations carried out on the structures.
«The process that follows – we read in a note from the Municipality – provides that by the month of January 2021 there will be the preparation and publication of the tender notice for the assignment of technical engineering and architecture services for the drafting of the definitive and executive project, safety coordination and works management. The professional who will have to draw up the two levels of design will be identified by February. Net of all the technical times necessary for the acquisition of the necessary opinions, authorizations and clearances, the projects will be approved by mid- 2021.

It should be noted that only with the executive project in hand will it be possible to have a more accurate and detailed survey of the amount of the works, and the times for their realization. Furthermore, once the executive project has been approved, it will then be possible to launch the tender procedure for the awarding of the works which, based on the objective set by the municipal administration, must take place by the end of 2021".
The Theater has a very important and central value in this village in the province of Macerata, as well as an Orange Flag country, where the eponymous saint is the patron saint of actors and theater people. In this regard the Municipality has created, as a cultural relaunch strategy, a festival and an award, the Ginesio Fest and the San Ginesio Award dedicated to the Art of the Actor which will allow San Ginesio to be known and promoted as the "village of actors"
