SAN GINESIO (Macerata)
A prize and a festival dedicated to the art of the actor, in the village that takes its name from the protector of actors: San Ginesio.
And precisely in the year in which the world of entertainment was put to the test. From the 23 to 25 August (patron saint's day) the Ginesio Fest is taking place and the city will be transformed into a real and virtual stage, widespread, in which meetings will be staged, video clips, events, exhibitions, performances by guest artists. The three days will culminate with the award ceremony of the first edition of the San Ginesio Prize, Tuesday 25 all 18 to the Colle gardens.
The final evening will see on stage, together with the jury chaired by Roberta Carlotto (founder together with Luca Ronconi of the Santacristina theater center), the winners: Federica Fracassi, theater and cinema actress and Massimo Popolizio, one of the most important actors in the Italian theater scene, cinema and television. Born on the initiative of the promoting committee, chaired by mayor Giuliano Ciabocco, 'San Ginesio' therefore comes to life in the year of the pandemic, involving the whole territory. The prize, together with the recently inaugurated exhibition Hoc Opus-Return to beauty at the Sant'Agostino auditorium, aims for rebirth in the post-earthquake;
the goal of the organizers, in the coming years, is to transform the village of San Ginesio into the 'Actors' Village'. Just think of the bond with Vinicio Marchioni and his wife Milena Mancini, periodically on site.
Between appointments worth mentioning of the Ginesio Fest, tre masterclass, on 24 and 25 August from 10.30 on. The first for example, Culture, innovation and territories, it will be with the writer Oliviero Ponte di Pino, followed by the screening of the documentary Pasolini and the shape of the city.
